Sunwing Airlines flying to sun vacations in the Caribbean has an abysmal record of maintaining flight schedules. They buy up used 737 aircraft from other carriers, re-paint them, ram in four more rows of seats and sell discount vacation packages and flights which end up being more expensive after you have paid all their extra fees
On SKYTRAX there is a litany of complaints about Sunwing Airlines headquartered at 27 Fasken Drive, Toronto, ON M9W 1K6. We were to leave Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on February 9, 2013 but Sunwing delayed, then cancelled, our flight 449 back to Ottawa by 22 hours. We were shunted from the Bavaro Princess Resort over to the Caribe Club Princess and given Tropical Princess wristbands so we could eat and get up at 3:00 AM for a 6:00 AM flight out that did not arrive until 7:00AM. WestJet and Air Canada flew out of Ottawa on February 9, 2013 but not Sunwing. First, and last, time with Sunwing.
