On a recent flight within Algerie the crew on the flight on 2 occasions were smoking. I have, along with my company and another company also working within Algeria, have submitted complaints but so far there has been no response.

Smoking was routine on the majority flights until the 1990's; it may be that Air Algerie don't ban smoking on domestic routes.

Just checked, they don't. Conditions of Carriage, Rule 26: Smoking is banned on all flights.!

As far as I know all airlines now ban smoking on all flights, I fly a lot around various 3rd world countries in Asia, Africa and internally in Russia and Eastern Europe. My complaint as a non smoker is that if a smoker wants to damage him or herself dont include me. Smokers are generally ignorant of the discomfort they put others in and often just dont care. My family rely on me to look after them and stay safe and healthy which I do but when the choice is taken away from me by some idiots who should know better it gets me angry.
