I am so angry with Etihad, I booked my wife and sons flight to Dublin, at first their online website kept crashing when I entered my debit card details, this happened three times, I phoned them up and they said they could take the payment over the phone but would have to charge me a booking fee, they did not leave me with a choice so I agreed, the girl then asked for my card details three times confirming that her payment system kept deleting my card details, in actual fact she charged my card three times,(I did not find out til later) my wife reported that the plane was dirty and the service was poor with a lack of drinks being offered or choice of food.
We where planning on moving into a new property the following day,I went to the local ATM in Ireland to withdraw the remaining amount of cash for my deposit, to my horror I was in the red by £800.00,I thought someone must have ripped off my card so I called my bank, they informed me that Etihad had taken the flight cost twice and also charged three separate payments on top of this, because of Etihad we missed out on an agreed new home that I had verbal agreement with the landlord on,I spent hours on the phone with their customer service centre, each one asked a lot of question's but nobody did anything, each day I phoned they asked for copies of my bank statement even though it was previously sent days before,no manager could resolve the situation, we were forced to go live in a B&B and what should have been a happy time for my family turned into a week from hell, after a week they refunded my duplicate flight charge,I then requested the other charges to be returned and they ignored this request for four months, I then checked my bank statements and noticed they still hadn't refunded my money so I pestered their team every day wasting hours of my own time in process, eventually they agreed to refund my money and credit some miles to my account to say sorry, that was four weeks ago now and I still have no money returned, their own policy states that they will refund within 1 to 3 weeks,I have sent emails chasing them again but I get no response at all now,I called their call centre and was on hold for ten minutes, I explained the situation and the agent but me on hold for a further 15minutes then cut me off, I phoned back and spoke to a new agent who promised to call me back, no call... I thought I would order something with the free miles, the package arrives from UPS with a demand that I pay for the duty and UPS's broker charge, this came to £30,the item is worth £50 in the UK, I accept the duty charge but the UPS broker fee of £19 ??? I phoned Etihad about this and they said it's nothing to do with them,I asked for a website address of the supplier and they just gave me a name of a company with no contact details.... I am now losing the all patience with Etihad, they treat their customers with no respect and they have no real customer service at all, I would never fly or book with them again, they were £100 cheaper than Emirates, based on all my hassle I will book with Emirates next time, I fly Emirates three times a year and have never had a problem with them, nothing is too much trouble for them, Etihad are the new Ryan air for the long haul market
