My family of five checked in 28 hours before our connecting flight to Melbourne(QR30). Yet the airlines staff in Rome could not change our automatically allocated seats. (The online check-in only works 36 hours before one's connecting flights but there is no choice of seats available even at that time)
3 of us were in one side of the plane. Across on the other side of the plane, my 4yo son was allocated an aisle seat. And the mum was allocated an aisle seat across from him. We tried again to ask to have seats together in Doha - it was 6 hours before our connecting flight. We were told all the seats have already been allocated. Also we were asked what is the problem with this seat allocation as the son is just across the aisle? Another family had 3 girls in separate seats in the plane on the same flight. On boarding , there was a lot of confusion as there were people trying to swap seats. The aisle was crowded. Someone already seated fainted. Luckily this was just a faint and not a heart attack. There was very limited access to the person - narrow aisle, no space to do CPR/defibrillation if required(hence if someone had a ventricular fibrillation, there was no space to move away from the person and defibrillation. |
