It is time the public knew the truth about the extent of the culture of corruption that has recently been revealed at Southwest Airlines concerning refusal to inspect and repair defective planes. Along with the meanspirited redneck jokesters they hire as flight attendants, they have also caused a great deal of trouble for fat people, nonwhites (how many nonwhites do you see working on a SW plane?), people who dont smell right to them, and people who insist upon complaining about ruined baggage (Southwest blames it all on the Fed inspectors and makes it nearly impossible to file real complaints, thus enabling the cynical SW management to claim, as they always do, that they receive the least complaints of any airline.) Yes. it might be true since they make it so difficult to complain and then recategorize your complaint so it isnt a complaint at all.
Did you know that SW does not take wheeled baggage either? That was the position of Hiram Harrison, a SW rep the airline flew out from TexASS to answer a small claims suit filed by an elderly gentleman in Sacramento who claimed that when on a flight to make a connection to New Zealand for medical care, SW baggage handlers had ripped out the entire handle and wheel mechanism from his high quality Eagle Creek bag, rendering it impossible to close -- belongings spilling out. The man alleged that SW employees at LAX had tried to deny it happened and offered no help to him to transfer to the international section of the airport or anything. And then when the man finally returned and tried to get SW to at least replace the bag, snotty SW reps simply buried him with bureaucratic makework. The man finally sued. But a special judge was appointed simply to hear this case alone, a notably senile man named William Gallagher. Subsequent complaints about this judge, who, of course, ruled in the favor of SW, indicate Southwest racketeered his appearance. Everyone in the courtroom hearing this case was appalled at the lies the Southwest rep, Hiram Harrison, told and the fact judge William Gallagher accepted all of Harrison's lies. And, yes, Southwest's Harrison claimed, "Southwest Airlines no longer accepts wheeled baggage because it gets caught in the conveyor belts." This brought guffaws from everyone in the room except the special judge William Gallagher appointed to hear the case. Southwest's Gary Kelly and Herb Kelleher have chosen to spend more money fighting lawsuits filed by people SW has insulted than it would have cost simply to make them whole again. So before you even think about complaining to Southwest, realize you are going to have to deal with a corporation that is built upon racism, lies, and denial. Hey, its Texas after all, home of the honest GW Bush, Enron, etc. |

wait, wait, wait. Let me get this straight: Southwest Ripped apart a passengers bag because it has wheels on it and it is there policy to not take baggage with wheels? I'm gonna call shenaningans on this one. I would say 95% of the bags that goes through any airport, on any airline has wheels on them. I've even watched that Airline show, based on SW, that clearly shows passengers with wheeled bags. I can't imagine anyone trying to handle luggage without wheels, unless its a carryon. No, sorry I'm not buyin this one.

Name of case and case number: Palm v Southwest Airlines Co.; Case #06SC04417, filed in Sacramento County, CA. Look it up. Better yet, phone Hiram Harrison, Jive Turkey par excellence, at Southwest. Tell me if he tries to lie his way out of this one. I can produce unimpeachable witnesses to it, including a tenured professor at USC.As I said, everyone in that courtroom was appalled except the crooked judge.
Future postings of mine will include some of the other outrageous lawsuits Southwest has chosen to fight. |

While the baggage complaint against Southwest may be justified. As a Texas resident I resent Augustus's insults against the great state of Texas. Texas does not control Southwest Airlines and your anti-Texas comments are unjust to those of us who live there. Not Texas but Southwest possibly wronged this person. As for Bush(and yes I am not a Bush supporter) do you blame Austria for Hitler? He was born and raised there?
I am assuming that you are from California I hope you know that many of us would love to see California fall into the ocean and buy ocean front property in either Arizona or Nevada. As for nonwhites being on Southwest I am so over that cry, as a gay white male I am so over being reverse discriminated against because of my race and not being black or hispanic WHITE MALES are now the most discriminated against in this country since many places can't hire till they reach a minority quota or we can't get into college because they haven't reach their quota yet. Before you call me a "poor rich white boy" to burst your bubble, I was raised by mom by herself after my dad's sudden death(he died 3 months before my birth and mom raised 5 of us on her own) without food stamps or welfare....she did something called work. When slavery was going on here in the states my family was still in Hungry and didn't come to the USA till 1912 and yes they learned to speak and write in English. |

Assumptions incorrect; lots of baggage; jingoistic; obvious chip on shoulder; meanspirited;good example of the educational level of people in a state that ranks 3rd from the bottom in SATs; would work for Southwest Airlines except for one thang.

Bob buys that all reality shows are real, unscripted, unedited, uncontrolled by corporate entities. Try to enter a change in the Southwest Wikipedia site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southwest_Airlines and see how fast the Southwest corporate internet goon squad deletes it.

I'm not talking about reality tv, i'm talking about what we actually see with our own eyes. Where is it any airlines policy to not accept a bag with wheels on it? And what gives them the right to rip apart a bag because of it? Who brings a suitcase to the airport that doesn't have wheels on it? I think the judge threw out the case because it was ludicrous.

First of all, you are full of S--T about wheeled bags - they absolutely DO take them.
Secondly they have many "non-whites" working for them both at the airport and in the air. And by the way - what is your point to begin with? Are you that itching to complain that you have to dig up other people's stories? |

Let's clarify: Southwest Airlines accepts wheeled bags. However, per the Contract of Carriage, Southwest does not accept liability for protruding parts of luggage and other articles of checked baggage, including but not limited to wheels, feet, pockets, hanger hooks, pull handles, straps, zippers, locks, and security straps. Simple reasoning behind this provision: these parts are especially prone to damage even under normal handling conditions.
