Thumbs down Alaska Spirit

I have a friend that use to work for Alaska Airlines until they let her go for no reason. From the time she started working for the airline she was treated unfairly. Since my friend started working for the company I did some major research on this company. There CEO Mr. Ayer claims that as long as an employee has the Alaska Spirit then they can be traught a job. Then why doesn't the company and excecutives such as Kurt Kinder, Michael Large and Larry Anderson follow such procedures and why is Bill Ayer and Fred Morh allowing the company to treat their employees in this manner.

With todays airline market being as tough as it is right now you would think that Alaska Airlines would want the individuals that want to make the airline survive and that wants to be there. This person has probably the most Alaska Spirit that enyone at the airlines has. Everything she owns pertains to Alaska Airlines. She has been in the process of doing a review with the higher management in the maintenance department and they are giving her the run around. Come on Mr. Ayer. you really need to get out their and investigate this issue. To all you customers out there do you really want to fly with a company that treats their employee's unfair?

Default The other airlines are as bad, or worse

Spirit,

Sorry to say, but your friend could have received as bad, or worse, treatment from Northwest or United. Northwest, in particular, has done its best to weaken, if not bust, the Unions representing its workers.

Southwest, while no angel when it comes to labor relations, seems to be the best US-based airline to work for.

Worldwide, Lufthansa German is probably not bad either. Like Southwest, Lufthansa has been consistently profitable--even in the face of high fuel costs.

Spirit:

There is probably some reason why your friend was terminated. You and your friend may not agree with it, but there is some reason behind the action.

If your friend feels like she was wrongfully terminated, then she should speak with represenatives from the state labor board and/or a labor lawyer to see if she has grounds to bring a wrongful termination suit against Alaska.

My friend is actually in the middle of the legal process. She has her reviews as well as other acts of proof to show that she was wrongfully terminated. Even after Alaska Airlines has not shown her the Alaska Spirit Mr. Ayer is so proud of she still wants her employment to be reinstated

My friend is in the middle of the legal procedure. The only thing she wants is for her employment to be reinstated.

No one is fired for no reason. What is the reason they were given?

Also, like every other airline, AK is looking at layoffs. If that happens, then your friend is wasting their time unless they have about 10 years seniority.
