Angry Flight from LAX to DEN on Aug 20th

We arrived for our flight from LAX to Denver on 08/20 on time and we got our boarding passes on time. But it wasn't that way with baggage check-in. There was only one person servicing a huge line that had formed at the self-check in. We stood there for more than an hour! Only then did a second person showed up to help with the baggage check in. We were late for our boarding time! One of our bags was slightly over the limit but due to lack of time to rearrange things, we decided to pay the $50. It took 20 minutes to process the payment! We could have just taken things out if we had known it would take so long. When we finally arrived in Denver, our bags were not on board! No one told us that our bags will be put on a different flight at LAX! We were informed at the AA counter in Denver that the bags will be delivered at our door early next morning! We have to fly out at 8AM the next day. So we have to get up in the middle of the night to unpack and pack!!! So American Airlines is charging a fee for baggage service but at the end there is no service provided.

Default About bag service or lack thereof

How did you check in before checking in your bag? How much was the bag over the limit? Was it overweight, oversize? How early did you arrive to the ticket counter? These questions beg answers to understand why your bag did not make it.

I am sure the agent was sure the bag would have made it but then again he is not the one loading it is he? If your bag was one the last ones to make it to the aircraft then it tells me a few things. 1. you are one of the the last ones to check in, more and likely late 2. If the aircraft is "cubed out" meaning full, then no more bags can get fit. If the bag is overweight or too big then guess which one is not going to be loaded.

At my airport we tell passengers to get to the airport no less than 1 and half hours early although most of the time passengers can get away with 30 minutes. But then again if their is a long line due off operations then what can be done?

I am sorry to hear about your trouble. I hope this information helps you.
