I have encountered some very unpleasant and dubious people at Aeroflot, Russian airlines. I live in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Nigeria</st1:country-region>. I went to the website of this Russian airline to make a reservation for my younger brother who was admitted to a university in <st1:country-region><ST1

Jamaica</st1:country-region> to pursue a Master of Science degree. The website processed my reservation and credit card payment and I received an e-ticket along with a “successful authorisation code”.
My brother arrived at the airport only to be harassed by airport officials because Aeroflot had deemed the reservation as fraudulent. When I was informed of this, I called my bank but was assured by my bank that Aeroflot had indeed collected the money from my credit card almost 3 weeks prior.
What I do not understand is why;
- Aeroflot will consider a transaction fraudulent and make no effort to contact the bank that issued the credit card.
- Make no effort to contact any other relevant authorities.
- Will cancel a reservation without making any effort to contact the customer to whom an e-ticket has already been issued.
- Will cancel a reservation, call the transaction fraudulent and make no refund to the original cardholder after many hours of calls to the call centre number that was displayed on the receipt.
I believe the behavior of Aeroflot Russian airlines is fraudulent in this case and that people all over the world should be protected from this fraud on their website.
At this moment, I have almost US$ 4000 of my money being held by Aeroflot for service not rendered but paid for. This is unacceptable in this day and time.
