Claim Your Lost Luggage in El Salvador
I traveled from Atlanta, GA to Savannah, GA by way of Charlotte, NC on US Airways. When I landed in Savannah, my suitcase wasn't there. OK - these things happen. I filed a claim with the ticket agent who told me that my suitcase would probably be found and delivered to my hotel later that same evening. It's now 30 hours later. I still have no suitcase. I tried tracking my claim on the web-based tracking system. It says my file doesn't exist. I've called the 800 baggage claim number every 2 to 4 hours today. I finally found out that I'm talking to a call center in El Salvador. The people there don't do anything to find lost luggage. They wait for someone in the US to call them with the status. When I asked just WHO was supposed to call them -- I got no answer. When I asked to talk to a supervisor I was, variously, disconnected, put on indefininte hold, told to call back, told that there was no supervisor and once, told that the supervisor didn't want to talk with me. Apparently, no one at US Airways does anything to find lost luggage and they don't give a #%&* about the problems they cause for their customers. I will never travel US Airways again.
