Thumbs down Bounced between United and Continental: buck passing

I have a confirmed reservation with Continental...some flt is on UNited...the problem is that no one knows which! Continental says flt 6566 is on UNited and United says it's on Continental. The flt 6904 is supposed to be on United, I have the seat nos but when I log on to United.com to check in they say it's operated by Continental...I spent 1 hour on the phone with both airles and they both passed the buck.
I wonder if there's a flt at all!!!

Ok.....where are you flying from and to? If you called CO and asked about CO6566, the information on CO's website shows that this a code-share flight operated by UA from Sacramento to Philadelphia with a stop in Denver. UA's website shows that UA6566 is operated by United Express and goes from Salt Lake City to San Francisco.

If you asked about CO6904, CO's website shows that flight is operated by United and goes from Denver to New Orleans. UA does not have a flight 6904.

It is confusing but you need to look at the airline designator in front of the flight number and plug that into that particular airline's website. It will then be VERY clear as to which airline operates that flight. Click the link below and you will in very big letter and numbers in parenthesis which airline operates the flight.

CO's website showing CO6904 is operated by United

I don't think the above link will bring you to the correct result page. When you get to that page, just type in 6904 or 6566 and it will bring you to the flight status of either flight and show clearly that they are both operated by UA.

Edit......now it did work for me. Hell, I don't know. It may work, it may not.

I usually go by the first stop, or the first connection city. If you're flying via DEN, ORD, LAX, or SFO it's probably UA. If you're flying via IAH, CLE, or EWR, it's CO. Hope that helps.
