Default Korean Airlines

Unless you are Korean, all Asian passengers will be treated rudely by Korean Air.
I was on a long flight from Saigon to Inchon and the Korean guy behind me complained to the attendant that I reclined my seat back. She made me put it up because the flight was full. I was treated very badly for the rest of the flight like a low-class-other-than-Korean Asians with very condescending attitude from the attendants.

It is more noticeable on flights to South East Asia.

Good information. I'll keep this in the memory banks when I make my next SE Asian trip. Does it matter if I'm not Asian though???

So are you saying that Asian passengers WERE allowed to recline their seats but you were not? Because if "no one" was allowed to recline then they weren't treating anyone worse than anyone else - NOT that THAT is acceptable but it just changes the issue a little.
Personally I would have asked whether it was a "requirement" (and asked to see where it was written) or a "suggestion".
If you declined, what was the passenger behind you going to do? Beat you up mid flight??
I can understand it during meal periods but otherwise it should have been acceptable

Also when you say you were treated badly for the rest of the flight - what do you mean?

Officially, yes, but unofficially it is still referred to as Saigon in Vietnam.

Default Criminal behaviour by Korean Air

I have come into contact with Korean Air during a Thyphoon, which is a tipical situation for the area and theyr standard operating procedures were shockingly unethical.

My story. I've flown into Incheong having an 8 hour flight at 8 a.m. on the 28th of August 2012. 10 a.m. was my flight to Taipei, they put us in a plane and kept there untill about 13:30, then they promissed a hotel room and sent to another desk, the desk didn't provide a room and rescheduled us to a 17:05 flight, which was delayed untill about 22:00 and they kept us aboard next to a terminal builbing untill 4 a.m. Then as we were complaining they provided 3 business lounge passes to 3 people out of the whole plain.

Outrageous practice, as they know just too well that if a thyphon is blowing it takes a day or two to pass, and I believe they have forecasts. Therefore the only reason to keep passengers in planes outside the terminal for 6 hours at a time is to avoid buing them a hotel room. The staff overall is helpless and at times blackmailing (take this flight or one night in a hotel, but the flights are full for the next 3 days. after 50 hours with no sleep it's a hard choice and the flight they pressure you for doesn't take off (staff at gate 20 the night of 28-29th)). All european passengers were shocked. The staff dissapears after making promisses and excuses and you never see the same people again.

Never fly Korean.

Angry Korean airline Stopover accommadation policy - RUDE

Did anyone know about stopove accommadation policy? STPC

I plan to flight to SGN from ATL, it is 23 hours total trip with 2 hours stop over from Seoul. On the return trip, there is a 22 hours layover in Seoul. So I chat with Korean airline representative and get a reponse:

1- Korean airline only provide hotel for first flight out. There is another flight later of the day that needs little layover time so I don't need the hotel.
Well, when I make a reservation there is no other option for me to select later flight. So I ask, can KAL change my flight to later flight so I don't have to stopover that long and get a rude response, you pay the cheapest fare, that flight is book up. I did not pay the cheapest fare? and I get cut off...

I would like to have a sorter flight with sorter layover, if all option I HAVE IS to flight with 22 hours layover ... WHAT SHOULD i DO...

THANKS

Haven't travel with Korean Air yet but the last time I visited Incheon was with Asiana and that Airline suck....I was told I would get the free transit hotel on a trip back to the US, but when I got there they refused to give me a room. So I tried to option for the free tour but then they told me I would have to pay and to pay I would have to walk half way around the airport on to the next floor. Then I tried to locate the place to pay and got lost and worn out from going overnight without sleep. Ended up dreading the airport chair for 12 hours. Never again will Incheon be on my list of layover. (Note that Koreans seems a bit racist toward other Asians....)
