I had to purchase 4 tickets for my family vacation. I needed to get two sky mile tickets from two different accounts and two purchased tickets. I called so I could do this all in one transaction to make sure we would all sit together. After the transaction I asked for the total that I would be charged on the credit card. She told me $525. I asked again, is this for everything, all charges and fees, she said yes your total is $525. Two days later I checked my credit card statement and they actually charged me $525, $30, & $30 in three separate transactions. I called customer service and they will not refund the extra charges. I talked to 4 different people, two of them supervisors, they said "those are the charges you have to pay." I asked then why wasn't I informed of this? They said, when you call there is a message that comes on and says "there may be services charges associated with this phone call". I don't agree with this, when I ask for the total charge on my credit card, I want to know the total charge, all of them.

I guess they should have told you that there is a ticketing fee over the phone of $30 per person but maybe the agent misunderstood your meaning of "total" as in the total ticket price. Phone ticketing charges are separate transactions that happen automatically when the ticket is purchased and there is no warning to the agent that it is going to include that charge.

You might try challenging the two $30 charges with your credit card company as being unauthorised. This scamming decoupling of charges to mislead passengers as to the true cost of the service ought to be illegal.
