First of all, on a flight of 6 hours long, I believe the airlines used to serve food at no extra cost! Apparently no more! So we were prepared to buy something (as well as bringing along our own snacks!), but American didn't even have enough food to sell!! This happened on the flight over to Kauai, and on the way back, their excuse was that there was not enough time to restock the food supply before taking off again! Incredible! Beware travelers! Make sure you have plenty of food with you!

i always think of the food the airlines used to serve to be a no win situation for the airlines. when they did serve the food, people complained because it was gross and alot of the food went to waste, now that airlines dont serve food on flights for free there are complaints about that. airlines only stock up on so many snack boxes and snacks, that way there is less waste. im travelling to japan today (lord help me) as a passenger and ALWAYS bring my own snacks. I work for a charter company, and when we fly from japan to seattle we serve 2 hot meals. after the first hot meal (an hour later) people were telling us they were hungry...i couldnt understand how people cant bring or dont think of bringing snacks. airline food isnt good or healthy anyway.
