Default Air France flight attendant laughed at me! RUDE

I was in the middle three seats on the way back to NYC. I am 6'4" so I always choose a seat away from the aisle. Otherwise I get bumped into by people large hips, bags etc. A french couple asked me to give up my reserved middle seat so they could sit together. I politely told them I would check with the flight attendant to see if they could find a different set of seats for them. Mind you, this is not even my job, but I could tell that these people were going to be rude. The flight attendant brushed me off, and when I went back to the seat the couple was carrying on in French and speaking loudly over me as if I wasn't there. The female flight attendant looked over and laughed at me in my discomfort. I have no other comment to make, since this behavior was disgusting to me. I am a respectful person, and this was completely barbaric.

I take it you are not French then ? this is a cultural thing and your only real option is to not use Air France again !! and the only thing I would have done differently is I would not have gone to the F/A to sort out something that was not my problem! 'C'est la vie',
