Angry AC 848 dated 20.06.2012-booking ref-P4NKWR

Dear sir, above mentioned flight was from Toronto to Heathrow, London. I had two seats booked on seat number 50A, Bhardwaj Pradeep Kumar and on seat 50 B, Bhardwaj Neelam departure date was 20.06.2012 boarding time 19:40 from gate E77. Now problem starts. I went to gate E77 and waited for long to board but at last moment I could somehow came to know that above flight is departing from gate number E75.Me and wife ageing 58 and 53 had to rush to gate E75 with our hand bags and laptop bags. Over & above this flight departed by one hour or so and landed at heathrow,London late with one hour late or around 09:40 AM, schedule arrival was 08:40 AM at terminal 3. Next connecting flight was BA143 from terminal 5 Heathrow, London to DEL(Indira Gandhi Airport Delhi) at 1020 AM. By the time we,at this old age, we reached terminal 5, we could not board the flight due to late reporting at counter caused by delayed flight of Air Canada. We had to struggle with our baggage between T3 & T5 twice or thrice. Finally we were given seats in Air India flight no. AI 112 schedule departure at 21:30 PM. Though we were offered accommodation, we started for the same but distance was long, we got tired and fell sick. We could not find doctor being the new place and we did not know about the system for treatment. We had no money in pounds. We had to be hungry whole day till we got food in Air India flight.
Besides this, the TV monitor provided at seat no 50A was not working during whole flight. Complaint was made to the staff and they gave a card with claim number 8ZB4ZA. Please look into this and decide just due to given wrong gate number and delayed flight, how much we had to suffer at this old age. How it can compensated. Hope will be taken seriously and sympathetically. Thanks.

What was the reason for the delay on the Air Canada flight. Also Air Canada and British Airways do not cooperate nor do they have an interline agreement. So Air Canada did it's part which was deliver you safely to London Heathrow. As for the BA flight to DEL, international flights tend to close out 1 hour prior to departure so that the gate staff can get their stuff in order and submitted to the FIS and to CBP.

It is advisable to travel on a single airline or alliance when travelling internationally, as when things go wrong you are more likely to be assisted. Air India offer a flight from Toronto to Delhi via London...

However, you were rebooked onto a later flight and offered accommodation. I think you may get some miles, but unlikely to get much compensation, particularly for the broken TV. It is an amenity, but airlines tend not to place much value on it.

On a side note... please 53 & 58 isn't that old!!! I should know.. I am 53!! lol
