My flight from IAH - SLC was delayed, overbooked, delayed again for mechanical reasons, then the crew walked off the plane because their shift was up and the flight was canceled. I got NO compensation and am still waiting to hear from United after I filed a complaint with them. I thought they were required by law to at least give a voucher if the cancellation is for mechanical reasons. The dozen or so airport employees I spoke to lied to me, gave me the run around; no one has authority to do anything. It took 17 hours to fly from Houston to Salt Lake City; think I'll drive next time!

I recently had to fly yo my nieces wedding in California. I experienced the works, from this horrible air carrier. I was stuck in the mass of people that had to be rescheduled after the SFO crash.
I waited in long lines and was vary patient with the airline, I knew what they were going through, I'm a Retired Firefighter of 37 years. Their web site stated that if your flight is cancelled then they will book you on the next one right away. Well that did not happen, I got a hotel at 0200 hours in the morning and waited until the morning. I waited on the "phone" with their customer service for over two hours. Finally, I got a person from India, who could not speak very good english. After I explained that I needed to get back to work, they came up with a flight on Tuesday in the afternoon. I was supposed to fly out of SFO on Saturday at 2300. So that would be three days later than I originally planned. I was supposed to be in Knoxville on Monday to teach a class. I was very ****** that they did not care if I took that time or not. I asked to talk to a supervisor, that person was able to change the flight to Monday at 0900. I was not happy but agreed to that. I had to get another hotel and rent another car. We woke up Monday got the bags and went tot the Airport. Evidently the folks in India, lied through their ass. I was informed there was no reservation. I was furious, I talked to a supervisor, some coward, that did not want to talk to me. They finally decided to put us on the "red eye" on Monday. (that is two days after the regular scheduled departure) We stayed in the airport all day into the night. We finally got home on Tuesday at 1200 hours. I had been up over 35 hours and want to tell you all, I used to dislike flying, now I hate flying and mostly, I hate United Airline. I hope they go belly up..... |
