I recently traveled to Richmond, VA and on my return flight from Richmond to Detroit we sat on the runway for 2 hours. I contacted Delta while sitting on the runway because I was going to miss my connection and they had me get off that flight so I could catch a flight to Minneapolis so I could catch a connecting to Sioux Falls, SD. When I got off the plane, they refused to give me my carry-on that they had checked at the gate, but assured me it would come to Sioux Falls. Now there is no record of my carry-on and they say they are not liable. Richmond, Detroit, and Sioux Falls airports have all been contacted and they say they do not have it, and Delta says since it was gate-checked they are not responsible. I have contacted people via phone, email, and in the airport, all have been very rude and not the least bit helpful.
