I feel badly posting at all after reading things others have gone through.

I had to meet my husband at a convention 1 hour from Fort Smith. It was also his 50th birthday the following day.

I had flown Houston to DFW, and on arrival, our gate was changed twice and our aircraft once. When I arrived in Fort Smith, my bag did not make it. There was absolutely no one to take a report for 40 minutes. When someone finally took it, we were told we could "hang around until the 5:30 flight came in to see if it was there" (3 1/2 hours), or call after 6.

Long story short, I have had nothing to wear at this convention, wore my travel clothes for my hubby's birthday dinner, and a cold front came in and I have only a pair of flip flops and no jacket.

We leave tomorrow, and hopefully I will have my bag in time to take it home! AA could not be less concerned, although when I called the first night, they had located my bag. 2 1/2 days later, no bag. AA sucks!

MzMolly, I feel your pain! I flew into Fort Smith last evening on flight 2979 from DFW. My luggage did not make it.

I had flown from Moscow to Houston. Claimed my luggage in Houston to clear Customs and rechecked it. From Houston to Dallas where I had 3 gate changes before I boarded 2979 for Fort Smith.

American has no sort of tracking in place and they have no idea where my bag is. There is a flight from DFW arriving this afternoon and I was told to check and see if my bag was there. They really don't know!

You are correct about the Fort Smith airport. If you fly in on the later flights, the airport is deserted. You can't even rent a car at 8:45pm! I have flown AA twice from DFW and they have lost my luggage both times. I have made many of those trips with Delta, and I have never had an issue with my luggage!
