So much for Delta's price guarantee
Before booking a ticket I called Delta's customer service to see if it would qualify for their best price guarantee; I found the ticket for a base price of $155 on 2 websites, while the base price was $167 on Delta.com. The rep told me that it would qualify, and that to get the guarantee I would need to book the ticket on Delta.com and submit a request as soon as I booked the ticket. I did. I also took screenshots of the other two websites to show the price of the ticket, and the time I took the screenshots is in the bottom right corner of each screenshot.
The next day, delta tried to pull up the same prices on the other two airlines; by that time, the prices had increased. I received an e-mail response saying that Delta could not pull up the price of the ticket. I e-mailed the screenshots to delta to show the delta price, as well as the lower price listed on the other two websites.
I received a response saying that Delta is aware that prices change, but that they will not contact either of the websites the verify the price and that they will not accept the screenshots. I requested to have a manager call me to discuss this since I would not have purchased the ticket if the delta representative had not told me that I would qualify for the guarantee (I was told that Delta would refund me the difference in price and give me a $100 voucher for a future flight). I was told that it would not be possible to speak with a manager, and that it would not be possible to take this issue further. Anyone know who I can complain to?
