I booked four tickets with American Airlines for travel to Chicago. Three tickets were paid fares one ticket was 50,000 miles. I called three weeks ago and canceled the tickets. When I canceled the tickets I was told that the 50,000 mile ticket could be changed for no fee because it was not a discount reward but that three or the tickets would cost $150 each to change. I understood and agreed, after all, it was over $2,000 in tickets. Last night at 10:15 I received an email that stated I was elegible for early check in. I thought it was an oversite on the system. but I better check in the morning. I called today to check on the tickets. I was told that we missed the flights this morning and that the ticket value was lost, even the reward ticket. When I informed her that I canceled the tickets three weeks ago she said they had no record of that and that there was nothing they could do. I could contact customer service and see if they wanted to issued a discount voucher. I have contacted customer support, but if past history is any experience, I just lost $2,000 and 50,000 miles. This stinks. Any suggestions?
