Default Highest bid for reservation

My story has no doubt been told here many times, but I'll add my voice to the chorus.

Spirit accepted my reservation, and sent me an email stating that the "reservation process was complete." Imagine my surprise when I tried to check in, and was told that I had no reservation. Spirit "had not charged my credit card" for the reservation. Meaning that Spirit had illegally kept the reservation open, and then sold it to the highest bidder.

I've heard quite a few stories like this from fellow sufferers. Isn't anyone going to shut Spirit down, or do we just allow crooks to keep running their businesses these days?
