Flying from Manchester UK to Buffalo NY via Dulles. The Dulles-Buffalo flight was canceled and I was put on one four days later. Fortunately being a very frequent flyer the United Lounge staff were able to book me standby from Dulles to Rochester (close to Buffalo). The stand by flight was 4770 which stops in Newark. Unfortunately myself and several people who were also standby were denied boarding of the continuing flight. Three of the four got a hotel voucher, I did not. The initial delay was presumably weather related but the denied boarding was not. Does anyone know the rules on flights which have a single number but make intermediate stops. I give United enough business that a hotel voucher would have been nice and I think new EU rules suggest so also?
I should add that my general experience with United has been quite good. |
