I was on a flight from BOS/FLL for July 1st. At the time, we were told flight was cancelled due to lack of crew. Flights were all full because of holiday weekend. Finally got on a flight to West Palm Beach, paid $215 for a transfer to Miami for a cruise. Filed a speak up with Jet Blue about the cancelled flight, and hoped to be reimbursed for the transfer. Now I am told the flight was cancelled due to weather! So they will not offer any type of compensation. This has happened before with them. I think its their way of covering themselves so they dont have to compensate us - what do you think??

I've seen this too many times. The flight is cancelled because the crew was coming from a city 1,000 miles away that had thunderstorms. If the "weather" does not occur in your city, or the city where the aircraft is immediately coming from, it shouldn't be dismissed as "weather related" so the airline doesn't have to compensate you. If the aircraft got to your city late because of weather somewhere else, it should be "late arrival of aircraft" or if it was cancelled due to crew it should not be blamed on the weather.

The weather exemption should be dropped. In Europe, there is no "get out of jail free" card for weather. Bad weather is predicable and should be planned for.

[when the airlines cancel, they should compensate us just like we pay them when we cancel.
