Default Discontinued Service between Phila & New England

I can no longer afford to fly to New Hampshire to visit my only grandchild. Southwest has discontinued service between Philadelphia & Manchester NH as well as service between Philadelphia and Boston (Logan Airport). Southwest used to charge between $39 and $79 to fly there one way---other airlines charge $500 plus round trip. I can fly to Providence and drive for three hours or I can drive two hours SOUTH to Baltimore and fly to Manchester. I may as well drive the whole 400 miles there. Flights were always crammed with people---I can see maybe cancelling service to NH, but Boston???? There is now no way to fly to New England for a weekend's visit. I feel this is unfair.

Life is unfair I want tons of money but I do not have tons of money, and I have to get up every day and go to work to earn it. A similar principal applies here. Boston-Philadelphia was not making Southwest any money so they had to make a decision. The decision was to better utilize the aircraft on a route that will make money. You can always drive, take a bus or the train. Just an FYI the price for jet fuel since the year 2000 has climbed 267% some short hops do not justify service and some do. BOS-PHL and PHL-PIT do not justify service as it as not profitable for them. Here is the story: http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/gener...Fuel%20Savings
