Due to my very unpleasant experience on my recent trip back home to Washington, DC from Odessa, Ukraine through Moscow, Russia I would like to report Aeroflot – Russian Airlines as unreliable company to deal with and even more untrusting in correction an error and compensation.
This review falls into many categories: DELAYED FLIGHTS, CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMPANY POLICIES, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, QUALITY OF SERVICE and MANAGEMENT. This is a list of complaints: Short Notice for delayed flight and incorrect information on flight delayed in Odessa. Not efficient and unprofessional service in Odessa. Failure to respond adequately: My written complaint to Aeroflot has been handled by a Ms. Ryzhkova who basically said "Sorry but …” She replied with general statements in accordance to the regulation and never looked at my particular case. Refused reimburse my out-of-pocket expenses caused by an Aeroflot flight delay. I landed at my final destination over 24 hours behind schedule and consider that it happens mostly not due to bad weather conditions, but because of “human factor” other words because of inefficient customer service on all levels. Tickets are not that cheap to expect such a poor service. Below are details of my unfortunate trip: My flight by Aeroflot-Russian Airlines SU1809 from Odessa to Moscow scheduled on November 29, 2012 at 4:30am has been delayed first till 10:40am then till 1:00pm. On my request to check (at least to check) whether it would be possible to redirect me through Istanbul (flight at 7:00am) or Kiev (two flights before 10:40am at 7:10am and 7:30am) and then New-York, I’ve got pretty rude reply from Aeroflot representative in Odessa that everything would be taken care in Moscow. Actually, he can check nothing as he was staying in the booth without computer. He was the only one visible representative of Aeroflot as well as airport staff at time of suppose registration (~3-3:30am) while a lot of passengers were concerned about their connection flights from Moscow. He gave incorrect information about why flight was delayed, about time it was delayed. As a result of 8 hours 32 minutes delay in arriving in Moscow from Odessa I missed my direct flight from Moscow to Washington on November 29, 2012. There were two flights from Moscow through Amsterdam by Aeroflot-Russian Airlines at 7:00 pm and 9:55pm. I could get back to Washington, DC by KLM (Aeroflot-Russian Airlines partner) much earlier; however, Aeroflot representatives in Moscow were not willing to try different options to assist me. Arriving in Moscow I have been assigned seat on flight SU100 to New York and then flight DL4105 from NYC-Kennedy to Washington next day, on November 30. Due to coming to my final destination almost 26 hours later (instead of 3:10pm on November 29, 2012, I was there after 5:00pm on November 30, 2012) I have missed exit interview on my last day at my previous work and submitting documents to start my new job from December 1st. I have bought more expensive ticket to have direct flight from Moscow to Washington, DC even though flying back on Thursday was not that good for me (a little bit late and risky). Therefore, flying back on Friday through New-York (which should be much cheaper) was absolutely unacceptable. In addition to inconvenience and problems, as result of that delay I had unplanned expenses and loses which includes: 1) 1 extra days of leave w/o pay at my work 2) Transportation (taxis from and to airport) |
