Default Delayed flight- total disorganization

FLIGHT THAT MORNING WAS DELAYED DUE TO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THERE WAS NO REAL UPDATE FOR 30-40 MINUTES AFTER PLANNED FLIGHT DEPARTURE. THEN WE ARE TOLD TO GO TO A DIFFERENT GATE TO CATCH A DIFFERENT PLANE. THE PILOT ON THE NEW FLIGHT THEN INFORMS US THAT " THE MAINTENANCE PAPERWORK REQUIRED FOR TAKEOFF HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY BY AN EMPLOYEE WHO CANNOT BE LOCATED. AS SOON AS WE GET IT, WE SHALL TAKE OFF." HE REPEATS THIS TWICE MORE. ALTHOUGH THE UPDATES ARE APPRECIATED, DELTA SOUNDS COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED. THEN, WE ARE TOLD THAT THERE IS A LIGHT THAT IS NOT FUNCTIONING IN THE ENGINE AND NEEDS TO BE EVALUATED. IT IS LATER FOUND TO BE NOT REPAIRABLE AT THAT TIME. WE ARE THEN ALL TOLD TO GET OUR BELONGINGS AND RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL GATE AND BOARD THE ORIGINAL PLANE WITH THE MAINTENANCE ISSUES. A TRULY ABSURD, DISORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
SLC TO LA- NOT EXACTLY A GREAT FLIGHT FROM THEIR HUB!

Only thing dangerous would have been if they ignored the mechanical issues and flew the plane. Here is yet another whiner complaining about staying alive.

No, he's complaining that Delta is disorganized and that their equipment isn't airworthy and in need of repair at the time of departure. What's wrong with such a complaint? It is reasonable to expect that the airline will have its equipment in good working order at the time of departure, and that if a problem arises it will be dealt with efficiently.

Of course, you're right. Hardly anything on a plane to go wrong. My mistake.

Right. So if the plane were to crash due to poor maintenance I suppose you'd have the same attitude.

Have you dealt with a crash and the families afterwards?? Safety is the ONLY priority and if people get upset and it causes some disruption, it is nothing like the alternative. Trust me.

Of course we all want to be safe, but often these delays shouldn't have happened in the first place. When airlines outsource their D checks to El Salvador and reduce maintainance procedures, things are bound to break more often. Older airplanes require attention more often than newer ones. All of these factors involve financial decisions made by airlines, and when things go wrong and delays ensue passengers have every reason to complain and vote with their wallets and keystrokes.

Judge,

This isn't a safety issue. Agreed the pilots need the paperwork, and shouldn't leave without it, but if a delta employee misplaced it, they delayed the flight.

You'd better re-read the OP then. Why were they told to deplane and return to another gate? Was it because of missing ppwk or an indicator that couldn't be repaired?

Please read and comprehend before making comments.

With all due respect (and trust me, little is due) the OP clearly states that the flight was delayed due to a paperwork issue. Planes like all things have mechanical issues and that is to be expected. However, employees misplacing paperwork is not acceptable. The unacceptable delay was Delta switching the passengers from plane to plane, then having to switch back due to their own internal issues.

Also, I find it hilariously ironic you are asking me to "read and comprehend" when you have failed to do so yourself:

OP States:
Quote:
A TRULY ABSURD, DISORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
Then you state:

You people are a bunch of ****ing idiots. With one exception and he knows who he is. You can't read. You don't/didn't do the job. Idiots write in and you take it for truth.

The OP never ever said the ppwk was misplaced. Please re-read it and quote where it says it was misplaced. At times, mechanics need to make a call and bring the ppwk with them to make notations on it. Happens all the time. OP NEVER said it was misplaced. It says taken by an employee who can't be located. You and most here like to make more of what is actually here.

I'm done. Admin...........I am begging your for about the 4th time to please remove my membership to this site. You people are pathetic.

I realize not everyone is a native English speaker, but perhaps you should look up a few terms in the dictionary. Paperwork is not in its correct place. Paperwork is misplaced. Who took it and caused that to be the case is not really relevant to the terminology.

No one forces you to come here. If it's so awful, why do you keep participating?

I can't explain it any better. If an employee removes the ppwk, it is not misplaced. It is in the place it needs to be at that time. Because the pilot doesn't have it does not mean it's misplaced. You won't get it cuz you don't know the intricacies of the job. No matter.

I am trying not to participate as I've asked multiple times to have my account removed. It's like watching an auto accident. One shouldn't look but always does. And what I see is mostly wrong here.

You'd be surprised at what I know. For example, how to spell "because" in addition to other things. Reflect on my name a bit. Perhaps I've fired you in the past?

Not trying very hard, but that's not entirely surprising, now is it?

I don't need to reflect on anything. You morons need to maybe refrain from talking about what you don't know about. It's amusing and frustrating at the same time.

Anyway, I have written my last words on this ridiculous site. I will only view until I am removed from here. You can respond (which I know you will) but you will be talking to yourself. Take care one and all.

Good idea - I was going to suggest to your parents you may need a time-out.

Stick around Judge... We all need a bit of heat!! I am siding with you on this.. The OP is complaining about the appearance of things being disorganised, but on the specifics of the paperwork it is clear. The papers were taken -and the flight could not go without them, but who knows if this was necessary or a mistake? However, misplaced they were not!!
