Icelandair Abandoned us in Seattle
Our flight from Reykjavik on Icelandair was late arriving in Seattle, meaning that the flight they had booked for us to San Diego through Alaska Airlines would not allow us to check-in because we were too late (but our baggage made it onboard.) Alaska told us that because Icelandair had booked the flight we would have to go through them to get rebooked and, if necessary, find accommodations. We were directed to the end of the terminal where Icelandair had its booth. IT WAS CLOSED! I tried calling Icelandair (two numbers) and only got a recording stating that they were closed!!! We had no way of connecting with Icelandair despite the fact that it was their fault we were stranded. We went back to Alaska and after some pleading, they took care of us, but I had to pay extra to upgrade to First Class so that all three of us could make the last flight that night to San Diego. We had been traveling over 18 hours and were devastated that Icelandair had abandoned us in Seattle. This was not the only problem we had... despite a three and a half hour layover in Boston on the first leg of our vacation, they didn't transfer our luggage from Alaska Air to Icelandair for Reykjavik. We spent two of our three days in Iceland without luggage. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN...EVER.
