Default agent slander , threats, and abuse

My story is so bad I dont know where to start

First of all, my flight was delayed for a couple of hours. It was a connecting flight from calgary to edmonton. This caused me to miss my greyhound bus in edmonton to another destination.

So I walked up to the air canada agent in Gate A 1-10 . Her name is "Elly"

I first asked about a reimbursement of a hotel room since I would be forced to stay in Edmonton an extra night. She gave me a card where I can phone in and yada yada

The problem started when I asked for her name, to be used as a reference when I would be trying to get reimbursed for my hotel bill.

She replied , "Elly" , in a very hostile manner. I asked for her last name, which she refused. I asked for a pencil sitting right in front of her, so I could write her first name down on the card.

She replied "No". I , of course, asked why not? She then got extremely angry and said " You are being very belligerent and hostile"

I immediately was taken aback because I was trying my best to be as polite as possible, since I know that being aggressive usually ends up no where.

I asked her to speak to her supervisor, to which she replied " I don't have any"

I asked to speak to her superior , she than replied " No , and if you dont sit down I will call the cops and they will take you to jail ."

At this point, I could not even believe this was happening. I just stared at her slack jawed and replied "What?"

She immideitly picked up the phone, and said " I need someone to remove a customer because he is being very belligerent and hostile and he is harassing and abusing me and other agents. "

I then said " Is this how you treat your customers these days?"

She then shouted ( and I am not exaggerating, she shouted to make sure everyone in the whole terminal could hear)

"GET AWAY FROM ME!"
"GET AWAY FROM ME!"
"GET AWAY FROM ME!"

I was shocked and humiliated beyond belief. People everywhere were glaring at me like I just attempted to rape this woman. I finally walked to another terminal to get a pencil to record what happend, and sat down.

By the time I got back, two RCMP officers were waiting for me. As soon as the ticketing agent saw me, she pointed to me , quite animated, and was talking to the RCMP, no doubt telling them more lies about what happened and god knows what else.

The two RCMP officers told me simply "If you want to make this flight, sit down and shut up." They proceeded to keep an eye on me the entire waiting period ( as was all the other passengers, no doubt thinking me to be a complete psycho) and watched me intently as I finally boarded and escaped that nightmare.

Now, as I was trying to find someone to complain about this vicious , slanderous attack I had just experianced via telephone to air canada , they proceeded to ensure me that someone would get back to me with the hour.

It has now been 4 days, and 8 seperate calls later I have not one person willing to help me or contact me in any way.

This all happened in Gate A 1-10 at 16:10

In my mind, if Air Canada condones this kind of criminal behavior (as they obviously do since no one has got back to me), we as Canadians should be absolutely ashamed that they soil our countries name by using it on their airline

I don't think you can take this anywhere, because it appears to be more of a "he said, she said" type of situation. Right now we have your side, which states you were polite but for some reason the police were involved. Then you'll have her side, which would say you were the instigator and that she "had" to call the police. I would say chalk this up to a bad experience.

I can totally see this happening with Air Canada agents. Why are there NO SUPERVISORS? I personally had similar experiences with Air Canada. Each and everytime I tried to complain, I was greeted with ignorance and deliberate attempts to make the situation even worse.

I do not agree to condone this type poor customer service, and I don't agree that we should put up with this.

This amazes me.

There seems to be similarities within AC.

At the airport, AC has no supervisors (as stated).

I called the customer service line, and the call-rep said they don't have any supervisor or manager.

Another similarity is that that it seems AC reps do not enjoy giving away their names. My flight got canceled, and there was only one AC rep in the info desk, she was very rude. Asked for her name, she covered her id tag, and refused to give her our name. Obviously, I knew if try to flip her tag or touch her, she can say some "harass story" so I didn't even bother trying. And knowing how the airline works, when complained, and when you describe the person, they can narrow it down because of the time, date, and the area that the rep worked, they can find the name. I guess mine would be easier to find because she was the ONLY AC person available.
