Default Try a little customer service

Many people can withstand flight delays, cancellations and broken or lost luggage if they are treated with respect. It seems that Continental Airlines has completely forgotten what customer service means. Lose the condescension, rudeness and add a smile. Not once did I find ANYONE from the airline that made us feel welcome (saying we appreciate your business and projecting it are two diffferent things).

Also, if you are going to impose a checked bag fee, then you should enforce the carryon luggage rules. There are customers who pay to check most of their luggage and opt bring a SMALL carryon, but can't fit it in the overhead because of those who avoid the checked bag fee by bringing multiple and large bags. Does anyone know if gate checking a bag avoids the checked bag fee (it appears to be the latest trend)?

Never using Continental again...

I saw when flying AA they had people who had too many carry-ons check their bags below at the gate and had to pay the fee. when i travel, im more than willing to pay the $15 for them to handle my bag, then i dont have to deal with it and the overhead space. i just cant check it when i travel for work because of my uniform. people tend to think they can carry what ever they want now and bugs the CRAP out of me when they dont listen on a full flight to put smaller items under the seat and larger items on top and WAIT to put their coats in the overhead bins.

I gotta go with unfriendly with this one, that carry on bag rule definitely needs to be enforced. Seriously, its ridiculous what folks bring on as carry on bags. What's funny is that now Continental has those stands that measures if your carry on bag cannot fit in it, it must be checked, but I rarely see anyone use it. But I would not rule this out for just Continental, when I have had this same experience with United and Delta. So you may as well add these two to your list of airlines you'll never use again ;o)
