So, I flew with jetblue on March, 20th, 2009 from Fort Lauderdale to JFK. I got my baggage and the next day, when I arrived at my final destination I realized that my Armani Code and Paco Rabanne One Million 100ml colognes as well as my Callvin Klein sport bag were missing from the suitcase!!! I called the airline and they left me on the line 'pretending' they were doing sth for 15 minutes, after which I hung and called them bag multiple times but no one picked up... AHHHHH... I hate JEtblue. These were my favorite colognes!! I will never fly jetblue again, I SWEAR! they are a bunch of thiefs!!!!

Once you check your bag TSA has control of it. file a complaint with them as well

TSA has control of your bag for a matter of seconds unless an issue arises. Either the bag room rampers got in to it, or wherever it sat before it delivered to you.

Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International and LaGuardia -- 400 of the first 2,000 screeners hired had criminal records. In some cases, it seemed that the TSA hired screeners without first completing background checks. I'm not saying TSA are all that innocent, by any means, but your bags are in the hands of bag room handlers alot longer than TSA, that was my point!! I've been in this Industry for 20+ years, I've worked the ramp for a short period of time, before I started my career as a Flight Attendant, i've seen situations that i've wished i've never had to witness, i've seen flights CXLD, misconnects, transfers and had no other way to reroute, i've seen 100's of bags sitting in the bag room for 2-3 days, so from first hand experience, regardless about what you read, i've witness it. I know what goes on behind the scene on the ground and inflight.

465 TSA officers have been fired for theft since early 2003, reports the New York Times. This year alone, the agency paid out $1 million in claims for missing possessions or damaged bags, says the Economist's Gulliver blog.

I'm not saying that ALL theft/pilferage from baggage is by TSA but your argument is flimsy. Just because bags sit around doesn't mean the baggage handlers have the opportunity to rifle through bags to find valuables. The TSA has much greater access to bags and also knows their contents from the x-ray machines.

Most airlines have cut their employee numbers by more than 10% over the past year. Your assumption is based on the presumption that baggage handlers have scads of time on their hands to pick through random bags in the hope that their efforts will yield a valuable find. I find it hard to believe that they have so much spare time on their hands otherwise the bags would never get loaded on the planes! TSA, on the other hand, has the screening devices and training to know what is actually inside a bag without it even being opened. In this way they can "cherry pick" bags that contain electronics, jewelery, cash, etc. which are worthwhile to a theif.

Why, may I ask, are you so ready to defend the agents of the TSA and at the same time so willing to throw airline baggage handlers "under the bus?" I know there's plenty of guilt to go around, but really dude...how big IS that chip on your shoulder?

The truth is, neither of you know whether it was the TSA or the baggage handlers. Both have been exposed in the past theiving. I remember a sting at JFK where baggage handlers were filming robbing passengers blind. The TSA do have the advantage of knowing what is in the bag. Maybe you should travel with cheaper cologne. I recommend Lynx, no one would nick that.

So where do you get off saying that "i'm defending them" and about "cherry picking" I was never involved and didn't want any part of that, I'm guessing its all hit or miss I don't know and I really don't care, I did my job and went home, and I have the same attitude now do my job and go home, and according to your sig your not even a airline employee, you have no clue what goes on behind the scenes only what you read in the press, and according to you, you fly often, congrads to you!!

btw Ind2009, on your travels see if you can pick up a "period". I ran out of breath and nearly fainted reading your post!! That sentence has to be close to a record!
