We Had A Flight Last Weekend From San Antonio To Indianapolis, Going Thru Charlotte (us Airway Hub). We Started To Take Off, Then Were Told Charlotte Airport Was Closed Down Due To Weather, And That Would Be About An Hour Before We Take Off. After Sitting Almost 2 Hours They Unloaded The Plane. 15 Minutes Later We Were Told To Load The Plane. We Were Told By Agent That Planes, In Charlotte, Were Being Held And That If Any Were Missed Us Airways Would Put Us Up For The Night. When We Arrived At Charlotte The Airport Was Empty And All Connecting Flights Were Gone. Us Airways Would Not Put Up Anyone In The Hotels. People Were Left To Sleep In The Airport And Fend For Themselves. To Put Salt In The Wound It Turns Out Airport Was Never Closed Just Crowded Due To Some Weather Delays.
We Could Heve Been In The Air A Lot Sooner, Or Let People Just Stay In San Antonio, Instead They Lied To Us, Then Stranded A Whole Airplane Of People In Charlotte, I Personally Was Traveling With A 3 Month Old Baby And A Diabetic Wfe, Whom Hadden Ate Since Noon (it Was Midnight At That Point).

The Airport More Than Likely Was Closed, But Only For Inbound Traffic. Like You Said, The Airport Was Crowded, They Probably Didn't Have Room For Any Additional Airplanes Coming In.

You Can Thank The Lovely Kate Hanni For This BS. If It Weren't For Her Stupid Idea That Every Flight Should Be Subject To Fines If You Sit In Line To Take Off For More Than 3 Hours, You Probably Could Have Just Waited Onboard A Bit Longer Without Wasting The Time To Unload And Then Reload And Would Have Gotten To CLT Sooner.

We Were Told By Agent That Planes, In Charlotte, Were Being Held And That If Any Were Missed Us Airways Would Put Us Up For The Night.

You Were Delayed Due To Weather, In The Future, You Should Know That Airlines Are Not Legally Responsible To Provide Hotel Rooms Or Hold Flights. Don't Ever Bank On Either Of These Things Happening And Always Be Prepared For The Worst.
