Seattle to Chicago 11/11/12. Delayed 2.5 hours because of mechanical problem. The pilot finally stated that it was his broken seat belt that was causing the delay. They couldn't get a replacement part for Boeing aircraft when the Boeing factory is 10 miles away? I'm certain he was complacent in the matter. Kindof like the broken seat ordeal. Eventually had to transfer to another plane. We ended up missing our next flight out and had to run the gauntlet in Chicago. Ended up getting home a day late.

Should the captain have taken a cab and purchased the parts on his own?
